Starting SEO
Search Engine Optimization, or the act of structuring your
web site to rank better in search engines isn't brain surgery,
but it does take time and effort.
This site is dedicated to the SEO newbie.
There is a ton of info on SEO...I'm hoing this site can guide you to some of the best sites and URLS that helped me along the way. Let SearchEngineFriend be your guide.
Lost without SEO
I remember when the words 'Search Engine Optimization' and 'SEO' were completely foreign to me, and I had no clue what I was getting myself into. I was working for 75 Million dollar company that was invisible on the web, and I was in charge of it. I searched past page 90 at one point and still could not find the firm I worked for on Google.
Do It Yourself SEO
So as web master, I set out to discover how to do this "SEO" thing on my own. I found a great deal of information on it, at SearchEngineWatch.com which ended up being my main source of information for a while. However, I found it best to gather SEO information from many sources. You should too. SearchEngineLand.com with Danny Sullivan is my main source today to keep up to date with SEO.
SEO Success
Eventually, I was able to get the firm on pages 1&2 in Google with several different search terms. You can get your web site to pages 1&2 on Google, Yahoo! & MSN too.
But where to begin with SEO? Here are some basics:

SEO is for every company, large or small, and it doesn't have to be expensive. But you do have to be careful. Wrong practices can get you banned from search engines.
Truth
